The most his genuine concern gets is an " eh " and a shrug of the shoulders; he clearly isn't matching his energy there. Sure, he couldn't say he has a particular distaste for Blue; she's all too benevolent and uptight about her morals, but she was also very fun to have petty drama with. As is seen by this whole exercise. It would be a bit of a shame to miss out on that.. but he won't be shedding any tears over it.

Once the paperwork's in the crickets hands, Bill has little problem just hovering over him. He scans over the page a little more while Jiminy does the same, but seems wholly disinterested in the affair. If he's lucky that disinterest will carry over to his current tasks and his charge, too caught up in all the new problems he can cause. Either way his inquiry gets a rather dismissive hand wave, followed by a lack of answers.

"I'm getting paid in this fun thing called noneya. I'd love to tell you all about it, but it's confidential. Fairy business and all that."

Any excitement he might've had at his newest problem causing idea seems to deflate mildly as he lists a few of the clauses, actually catching up to him in the text to read it over. Damn. Well, loopholes are one of his favorite things to exploit, so he'll just have to read that one over a few times and see what he can do.

"I already said, I skimmed it - all she does is sit around and grant wishes, how hard can it be? I bet more than half of that is just flavor text."

"She's not dead!" He snaps. Of that, he's certain - there's nothing out there that could take out anybody with that much power. Jiminy has known the Blue Fairy for quite some time now. He's only seen her well and truly drained, enough to vanish from the sky, on one single occasion, and that was when he— well, when she broke a rule or two to bring him back. Surely she wouldn't do something that dangerous again. "I dunno why you're even bothering with all this. Give it another day and she'll be back on her feet and right as rain."

At least he sincerely hopes so, and Jiminy gives him a withering look as he preens. He just can't imagine actually having to work with this guy. He doesn't know any of the details about Jiminy's work, not like the Lady does. Jiminy's going to have to catch him up on Pinocchio's current school troubles, and— oh, gosh, there's a harrowing thought, what if he makes Jiminy move onto a new charge? And he hesitates to imagine what sort of wishes he's going to prioritize. Stars, this whole thing feels like cheating. Uh... professionally cheating. You know, with a new boss.

Trusting him is the last thing on Jiminy's mind, but he does have to concede on one point: the paperwork does look very official. He hops back a pace or two when it materializes in the fella's hand, giving him a dubious look but taking his spectacles out of his coat pocket all the same before jumping up onto the page with a frown. Admittedly... it is a little fascinating. Jiminy didn't sign any paperwork when he picked up the conscience job and every glimpse into the intricacies of fairy bureaucracy is captivating. Irritation reluctantly ebbs away as he makes his way down the page, scanning line by line.

"Uh... huh. Gimme a second, here, there's a whole lotta fine print. What are you gettin paid in, then?" He hesitates to ask. Magic? The rules for using it are so restrictive. Fame? Glory? He supposes the Blue Lady is something of a legend, but she's often not one that folks vocally believe in. Or maybe he just gets his kicks sniping job openings. At the dismissive mention that he won't be around long enough to worry about taking any time off, Jiminy hums. Least that's one thing they can both be glad for.

"Well, for starters, you don't need permission to form a union in any job, and... you didn't hear it from me, but you might be onto somethin with that one," he confesses, then shakes his head. "How high level are we talkin? No murder, no necromancy, no hot dates." Those are the barest basics Jiminy is aware of, and while he isn't at all opposed to spending a day reading and relaying job obligations... he's a bit concerned that somebody would just snatch up a position like this one without knowing what they're truly getting into. "Just how much of this did you read?"
